(8/10) - Spring break! But not really

One of the illustrations I created for my autoethnography. These have been created with risograph colors so that I can see what it will look like at the end product. I’ll grayscale it afterwards so it can actually go to print correctly.

What did I do this week?

  • Reviewed, edited, and storyboarded my books 1 & 2

  • Added more card items

  • Wrote my ideations and prototyping chapters

Reviewed, edited, and storyboarded my books 1 & 2

Over spring break, instead of taking any actual breaks, I marched right through and did more work than ever. I asked my partner to read through the mockups of my autoethnography. This gave me a first pass of the book from someone else’s eyes. Though I was only expecting grammar mistakes and feedback on my structure, I actually also got really good feedback about how the book made him feel and how it made him think about his own culture, and how his family’s history and his identity made the celebrations of them different. To be honest, I almost cried. Here was my autoethnography doing the exact same goal I wanted it to and it wasn’t even half done yet. It made me really happy to know that it is going on the right path.

Added more card items

I added more items to my card series. I was missing a lot of food items and their meaning and last couple of weeks I haven’t been able to do the research on them. So I was able to fill out my table.

Wrote my ideations and prototyping chapters

More time-consuming and boring, I wrote my ideation and prototyping chapters in my disseration. It was a pretty terrible experience.
